Tropical storm Pulasan has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility and is now named Helen

 Tropical storm Pulasan entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and was given the local name Helen, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

At the same time, tropical depression Gener is still within PAR, moving westward across the West Philippine Sea at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour (kph).

According to Pagasa's 5 p.m. bulletin, Gener was last located 235 kilometers west-northwest of Baguio City, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gusts reaching up to 70 kph.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 has been raised in the following areas:

  • Ilocos Norte
  • Ilocos Sur
  • La Union
  • The western part of Pangasinan, including Sual, Burgos, Dasol, Mabini, Infanta, Labrador, Alaminos City, Bani, Bolinao, Anda, and Agno.

Gener is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) either Tuesday night or early Wednesday.
