“We will ensure that Quiboloy and his co-accused appear before the Senate,” she added. “Many more victims are eager to testify to defend their identity, their dignity, and the complete truth.”
On Wednesday, Philippine National Police (PNP) Spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo mentioned that they are collecting additional testimonies and evidence following the approach of a new group of victims who disclosed distressing details.
In January, Hontiveros' panel heard from one of Quiboloy’s alleged victims, known by the alias “Amanda,” who was the first to publicly speak out about the alleged sexual abuses by Quiboloy.
Hontiveros expressed her gratitude to “Amanda” for her bravery, noting that her testimony has “inspired more victim-survivors to seek justice.”
“She was among the first to testify publicly through the Senate, exposing the systematic rape, abuse, and exploitation perpetrated by Quiboloy,” Hontiveros said.
Quiboloy, along with four of his associates—Jackielyn Roy, Ingrid Canada, Cresente Canada, and Sylvia Cemanes—was arrested on September 8 at the KJC compound in Davao City. They have been held at the PNP custodial center since then. Another suspect, Paulene Canada, was arrested in July. Quiboloy and his co-accused face human trafficking charges in Pasig City court and child abuse cases in Quezon City court.
On Friday, the self-proclaimed “appointed Son of God” entered a plea of not guilty to human trafficking charges during his arraignment in Pasig City court, marking his first court appearance.
